Darnell Nurse was left bloodied and had to be helped to the locker room after being hit in the head early in the second period of Toronto's 4-3 overtime victory against Edmonton.

Oilers captain Connor McDavid pleaded with referees while trainers attended to Nurse on the ice as play was halted to clean up the blood on the spot of the hit. Reaves was handed a match penalty for the illegal check to the head and immediately ejected from the game.
