A small town in Huerfano County is now home to a millionaire after someone scored big when a $2.6 million winning Colorado Lotto+ jackpot ticket was sold in La Veta. According to Meghan Dougherty, Communications Manager for the Colorado Lottery,

“Colorado Lotto is on fire!” Colorado Lottery said Thursday. “The winning ticket was sold at Charlie’s Market on 214 S. Main St. in the tiny town of La Veta -- population just 878!” The town is small enough, it could split the winnings across the entire population and each person would score nearly $3,000!

One lucky person woke up Thursday to the crazy reality of hitting Wednesday's $2.6 million Colorado Lotto+ jackpot — thanks to a ticket sold in the tiny town of La Veta, according to Colorado Lottery officials. The winning ticket was purchased at Charlie's Market, which is located at 214 S. Main Street, in the town of 878 people.
