The FBI said it's received reports that Hispanic and LGBTQ people were targeted by threatening text messages similar to those received by numerous Black people after the election.

Federal authorities provided an update on the series of racist text messages that were sent to Black college and high school students in the days after the election, which included messages about being "selected to pick cotton at the nearest plantation.

Officials shared that high school Hispanic and LGBTQIA students are receiving offensive messages saying they’ve been selected for deportation or re-education camps.
