NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Schools across New Orleans were on high alert Friday after a wave of new threats of violence, leading to three student arrests, including an 11-year-old, and escalating safety concerns. In total, 16 schools have now been affected by threats that began Wednesday. Two schools were placed on lockdown Friday and another closed.

Police say a total of 12 threats were called in to schools citywide. According to NOPD, they do not believe the threats are tied to one person, but multiple suspects.
