A Democratic candidate for the Arizona state Senate was killed in a car crash Friday morning, a day after he conceded the race to his GOP rival.

MESA, AZ (AZFamily) —A man is dead after he was hit by a car in Mesa on Friday night. Around 6:30 p.m., Mesa police were called to a crash involving a car and a pedestrian near 56th and Main streets.
